Check out--and add to--our
Jessamine County Bucket List!
Chances are that even those who have lived in Jessamine County all of their lives haven't managed to experience ALL that the area has to offer!  So to help solve that problem, we've created the Official Jessamine County Bucket List (okay--maybe not Official, but still...a great idea!).  Check it out--and if you have any suggestions for additional items, let us know by emailing us at info@destinationjessaminecom!

1.        Visit one of the numerous parks sprinkled throughout the county, like Centennial Park (just off U.S. 68 in Wilmore).

2.  Watch a train cross High Bridge, once the highest cantilever bridge in the United States, and still one of the most stunning sights in the region.

3. Get a breathtaking view of the Kentucky River Palisades when you canoe or kayak the miles and miles (more than any other county in Kentucky) of Kentucky River that grace Jessamine County.

4.  Grab a camera and hit Jessamine County’s back roads and trails to get some great shots of the numerous type of birds and other wildlife that make Jessamine County such a beautiful place.

5.  Gather the kids, grab a lawn chair or blanket, and spend a summer evening enjoying beautifull music at one of the free of the Stonebridge Concert Series events in Wilmore.

6.  Spend an afternoon expanding your horizons—or just enjoying the latest “must read” at Jessamine County Public Library.

7.  Visit First Vineyard, site of the first commercial vineyard in the United States, for a taste of history as you enjoy spectacular views of the Kentucky River.

8.       Check out the trails at Asbury Equine Center, just outside of Wilmore.

9.       Take a free tour of Taylor Made Farm, home of some of the most famous thoroughbreds in the industry.

10.   Hike the more than 5 miles of trails (a portion are wooded) at Camp Nelson.  While you’re in the area, stop by the nearby Hickman Creek Nature & Conference Center, home of approximately 3 miles of trails.  Both are great places to explore!
